    Frustrated in KL

Feels great to be back home.
Shame about the awful crime rate though.
Feels kinda sad to think that Malaysia isn't any safer since the day I left.
& I do have a gripe with the poor road manners of drivers.
    Sheesh.
Why can't you guys use your bloody indicators!!
Learn some manners, be polite, give way.
Is that so hard to do?
    Sighs.

  • R.I.P. Daimler XJ40

    Dear readers,
I dedicate this post to the demise of a car that was once dear to me.
The car that was first presented to me by my dad to drive.
Not a Kancil, nor a Proton,
    But an oldie Daimler.

& what a looker she was.
Yet for all that, she had her fair share of reliability issues.
Even so, it doesn't detract from the fact that this was my FIRST car.

Got the sombre news of its sheer totaling by my dad a few days before I sat for my ACCA exams.
& now I finally have the pictures to show how dreadful the crash was.
You see, the mechanic lost control of the car & it swerved,
    Crashing into a river bank.
    *sighs* Poor ol' Daimler.
    I'm gonna miss you.

  • 2008

    Ahh, January 1st 2008.

    A brand new year.
Seems like just any other day.
Save for the irrepressibly familiar tone of fireworks going off either side of the midnight mark.
Feels rather odd knowing that Malaysia ushered in the New Year 8 hours earlier.
This time its a subdued & homely stay,
    Rather than being in a large crowd having a fun time;
    Hoping to catch fireworks.

I had that experience last year, when I was in London counting down.
It certainly was amazing seeing revellers congregating around Trafalgar Square, with many more surely having a more splendid time being nearer the Big Ben.
& what an experience it was, cos from where we were standing, we couldn't catch a sight of the fireworks at all!
    All sound and no display.
Plus it got rather annoying when I could smell weed being smoked by some bloody yob.
It was rather amusing that we stood there for like an hour,
Believing that we had the best spot,
Where the ubiquitous Jalur Gemilang billowing in the wind to our right.

    Anyways, that was last year,
& boy does it feel as though time has passed by so quickly!
I simply can't believe that I have finally graduated from university,
& have started my pursuit of the ACCA qualification.
Although it felt disappointing somewhat knowing that I failed to get a job here.
    That was like my ultimate aim since coming to Bristol in September 2oo6;
Even making the decision to stay all alone during the summer
When all my dear friends went back.

Either way, I believe I benefited a lot from this long journey.
I am looking forward to returning for good,
& am quite eager to re-acclimatise to life back home.
No more cold mornings nor nights,
No more spending hours just facing my laptop.
Just so anxious to feel the warm glow of the sun.

    I miss home.
    I miss my family.
    I miss my beloved.

    I just miss being myself.

Anyways, Happy New Year dear readers.
May 2oo8 be as fruitful or prosperous for you & your loved ones.
    I know mine will ;)

  • Mundane Life

Life seems rather mundane at the moment.
I find it increasingly frustrating at times that the days seem to pass by so slowly.
    Drip drip drip,
Rather than a cavalcade of waves.

I found it hard to sleep today.
All that crossed my mind was the thought of really leaving the country.
Of coming back to Malaysia for good.
Its like a Homecoming of sorts,
Yet without the fanfare nor enthusiasm.

I guess my prolonged stay here had blunt that self-confidence somewhat.
I find myself counting down the days with sheepish impatience,
As befit a dog excited to get a new bone.
Rubbing my hands with glee at the prospect of leaving for home.
    Its been too long Malaysia.
Too long since I've been away.

I've forgotten how the weather feels like,
How easily it is to get something to eat anytime of the day,
I miss being with the ones I truly love & care about.
    Although I must say,
I do feel anguished at the increasing crime levels.
    Rape, robbery, snatch thefts...
Its quite uncommon in the UK,
Although it does have disparate group of people who are still racist.
Or yobs who belong to silly idiotic street gangs.

Anyways, it's time I finally come home to Malaysia.
    Its been too long...
